Welcome to "Coach's Corner"

Coach's corner is where coaches and managers at CPFC can come to for all relevant training materials and documentation.

Tip of the week - "Before using the width of the pitch"

Before a coach decides to spend time trying to get the players to spread out and use the width of the pitch they need to ensure that their players have the following abilities/knowledge:

1 – Ability and willingness to pass the ball to each other (If the team is not passing to each other but simply booting the ball forwards, then this needs to be addressed first before they can genuinely use the width of the pitch)

2 – Have the strength to pass the ball far enough (Can they pass the ball accurately and firmly using the inside of their foot from the centre of the pitch to a player near the sides?)

3 – Have the maturity to understand the concept of passing the ball out wide? Not just to kick it long/wide.

4 – Have confidence in their own technique to look away from the ball and look for a player to pass to, that is not in their immediate field of vision?

See below for more documentation and training material............
